Friends – a poem

In the next few posts I want to consider a biblical perspective of friendship. I decided to start this “series” off with a poem I wrote when I was thirteen.

A cradle
Who tenderly embraces me tight.
A chair
Who sometimes forces me right.
A pillow
Whose shoulder is a place to weep.
A bed
Who lets my dreams live and leap.
A coffin
Who will not depart from my side.
A friend
Are those who in hard times abide.
